Be the Change!

“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

~ Mahatma Gandhi

This is one of the most powerful quotes of all time. Why? Allow me to explain.

You – Ghandi is talking to each and every one of us, past, present and future. If you want a better world, then it is up to YOU to make this happen. It is your responsibility to make this world a better place to live. Do not wait around for others to make the world a better place because if everyone were to adopt this attitude, there would never be any significant, positive change. Instead, if together, we all adopted the initiative to be the change we want to see in the world, the world would flourish to new heights.

Be – At this time, I would like to direct your attention to the word “be”. Ghandi did not say you must “become” the change as this would insinuate that the change should happen in the future. Instead, he used the present tense word “be” because it means that we could (and should) change at this moment. The instant we decide and start being the change, change happens. Again, there is no need to wait or hesitate – be the change NOW.

See – What would you like to see more of in this world…love…peace…joy? Well, if you want to see more of these things, or whatever else you desire, then start putting forth these things into the Universe. Be more loving, peaceful and joyful each day. Show others how you would like to be treated by treating them in a like manner. Remember, you reap what you sow and collectively, the world reaps what each and every one of us sows!

In my book One Habit At A Time, I teach you how to apply 9 essential habits (3 physical, 3 mental, and 3 spiritual) that will positively change your life and as a result, positively change the world. In other words, it shows you how to be the change. Are you ready to change your life? Are you ready to change the world? What are you waiting for?

    • Hi Ann, I use a solar-powered Casio Pathfinder which has a countdown timer and auto-repeat function however, there are a number of options available. Samsung has recently released Smart watches which work similarly to smartphones and tablets. All you would need is to download an app which has a countdown timer and auto-repeat function. If you already have a smartphone and you carry it with you all the time then you may just download the app to your phone. However, battery drainage may be an issue with smartphones. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask at anytime. Enjoy your day.
