Team Spirit!

I cannot believe how quickly the Universe can change your life. About 18 months ago, I met Phil Delaire at a fitness conference and he welcomed me with open arms to join his high-performance team at the Granite Club. Thank you Phil! Since then I have focused all my efforts on establishing myself at the club and doing this has been extremely fun. I have met so many wonderful people and developed some great friendships with colleagues, members and clients. I could not imagine a better place to work. And I say the word ‘work‘ lightly because it does not even feel like it at all.

As fun as these past 18 months have been, I really miss writing and I look forward to starting up again. Recently, I was very inspired by my colleague Mark Mancino (a.k.a. The Real Food Guy). Mark was behind the 30 Day Real Food Challenge which was supposed to only bring together 20-30 people and amazingly, it quickly grew to over 100 people! How did he get so many people to follow him? Well quite simply, Mark is on a mission. He is a highly motivated person and he wants to see people eating more real food. During the challenge he wrote a detailed tip every single day which was enough to create a small book by the end it. And because this 30 day challenge was so successful, Mark has started his own blog where he will continue to share his informative, charismatic and humorous (Vanilla Ice wannabe…just kidding buddy) posts on real food. I highly recommend visiting and subscribing to his blog (The Real Food Guy) which you can do by clicking here. It is a fantastic way to stay up-to-date with nutrition and real food.

Mark is just one of an exceptional team of trainers Phil has masterfully put together at the club. This group of trainers truly deserves and embodies the title of ‘high-performance team’. There is so much each of us has to offer (a vast collection of both theoretical study and practical experience) that it would be crazy not to share it with others. For this reason, Mark Mancino, Jesseny Rojas and I thought it would be a great idea if we all (the high-performance team) started to bridge together our knowledge (through the use of blogging) where each of us would focus on a topic in which we shine. Jesseny is a long-time, successful blogger and she has been helping to empower mothers with her blog – Empowered Momma. She educates her large fan-base about what to expect from pregnancy and motherhood. If you are looking to stay informed on this topic then Jesseny is the source to go to. You can checkout her blog by clicking here.

I know there are a few more bloggers in our high-performance team and I will post about them as well once we all have our act together. We all look forward to creating a wealth of information to share with Granite Club members, our clients and the community at large.

As for me, I will continue to write inspiring posts on constructive habit development, holistic health and living life with passion and to the fullest.

All I have left to say is that I am super excited and I can’t wait to see this idea come to fruition!

  1. We are so blessed to have been brought together by a vision from our fearless leader, mentor and friend Phil. As you expressed we all do bring something unique to the table which is apparent in our training and communication styles. Whether its through our writing, engagement with our clients and peers and in our lives, the universe has connected us all to spread the word about wellness as a team. Nice job Sal on bridging the gap between us writers. (insert smile here)
